Today: Four Calling With Phones to Complement SEO
What on earth do I mean? Well do you have a phone? Gosh, if you don't like long distance do you have SKYPE? No excuses here, the telephone is a crucial part of SEO. Let me outline four reasons why.
1. Call for Links - Get this, you're more likely to score reciprocal link partners, or hey, even one-way links, if you just pick up the phone and dial. As a webmaster, what would I rather? A spam email, or a friendly voice depicting the benefits of their content for my users? I'm more likely to give that person a link after speaking to the warm body.
2. Call Your Prospects - Offer free analysis? Offer to discuss your findings over the phone. Giving potential clients the time over the phone to discuss their SEO and goals will a) give them the impression you care, b) give you a better idea what kind of work they require.
3. Contact your Contacts - Do you have a contact page? Ask for a phone number so you can personally respond to inquiries. The converse of this is of course people who don't want to be called. These users won't bother with the entire contact process if they HAVE to put in a phone number.
4. Phone your Colleagues - SEOs like their community and are more than willing to chat with a colleague over some problems, new findings, tools, etc. You'd be surprised how many people you can network with to share skill sets. For many, you can complement each other and maybe wind up with more business. If nothing else, you add another voice to help your overall learning process to this never ending game of SEO.
Those are four really quick ideas that are attached to using the phone to complement your business. With Skype and other calling systems, you can even chat with someone clear across the globe. Outsourcing anybody? Or maybe just expand your clientele worldwide.... The possibilities are endless with the trusty telly/celly/VoiP.
