An update on article directories. A good one (what was good) was SearchWrap. They, however, place 'nofollow' tags on all links now. That's bad, no PR juice sent your way so ZERO point on sending them your articles.

That's there blog post...and yes, I've nofollowed the link. :P

Sure, I do'nt disagree, especially for the new sites, and really, there are only 50 (maybe) ezines that will be updated regularly. Having said that, if it's great content, then you should think about putting that content on your web site rather than someone else's.

they still work and the article pages still get indexed. like anything else, there's a right way and a wrong way to do it. hint: submitting to a few hundred who pages never get indexed is a waste of time. go through ALL of them and make a list. i gaurantee that list will shrink to 30-40 sites at the most. 30 authority backlinks is always a good thing.

I couldn't agree more.... The thing is many newbie/old school/SEOs that don't bother staying the times can still get away with these practices cause Google won't ban/penalise sites who still use old techniques... If you abuse these techniques then you'll be in trouble, but directory submissions are still a viable way to get incoming one way links. The thing is they aren't worth much these days.

I see what you're saying, but I also see tons of supposed SEOs going nuts on articles submissions and directory submissions. IT's really about content on your web site, content people. Create link bait with your quality content!
