Top 12 Categories for Basic SEO of December 2006

Here is a recap, a sort of a year end post, that marks some of the key aspects from our recent foray into the 12 SEO Days of Christmas. Some great tips and suggestions are in the twelve so bookmark it!

12. "Twelve Paid Directories" - Yes, paid directories are still out there, and they still work, however, the question is, how much? Is it worth the price to submit to Yahoo! every year? We are starting to see that a link is a link even if you pay....

11. "Eleven Bloggers Bloggin'" - Keeping track of the latest SEO trends is crucial to stay on top. Even the pros have 20-30 daily blogs they check in order to note changes fast. Here is a list of eleven of my favorite SEO blogs.

10. "Ten Lord's a Link-Baiting" - Top 10 lists (like this top 12) are all the rage for creating 'link-bait'. Provide some type of useful feature or list for your industry, make it worthy of links, and then submit it to some social bookmarking places.

9. "Nine Laides SEOing" - Some comments on the demographic issues behind SEO consultants and firms. Put in your two cents about the male dominated industry

8. "Eight Web Stats You're Milking" - Did you know you have free statistics on all your visitors? And these stats are more than just visits, it's crucial data that tells you invaluable informatino about your users. Get some free tools to start checking stats today.

7. "Seven Steps to Great SEO" - There are more than seven, but here is a list of seven broad categories that you need to pay attention to if top rankings is your goal.

6."Six Blog Promotion Tactics" - Another brief list to give you some very basic methods of marketing and promoting your blog. Some great tips and links to more resources.

5. "Five Golden Steps to Marketing Planning" - SEO is not SEO without coherent business planning. If you don't have a quality marketing plan for your SEO venture then you'll be spending too much or not enough. Read on to view the five crucial components to any marketing plan.

4. "Four Calling With Phones to Complement SEO" - Some useful tips on how you can use the common telephone (it's the thing with a dial tone, 12 keys button, sometimes more) to complement your SEO venture.

3. "Three Search Engines" - The top three search engines dominated by ever powerful Google. What do you have to do to please them all? Read on for some suggestions.

2. "Two Something Somethings" - The latest Google update made me cut this one short, the next day is full of great information.

1. A number on Google Placement! - Google did it again, changed their data and mouthballed some web sites just before the Christmas season ended. Dec. 19th marked another so-called 'data push' from Google. Read about how this 'push' is different from the others and why, at least in the short run, you should be worried.

That wraps up this year's SEO review! Everyone at Distinct SEO would like to wish you a Happy New Year. 2007 will bring a lot of great new information and SEO content that will help you get to the top and convert more traffic into sales!
