The latest round of updates from Google–dubbed Panda–leaves content farms at the short end of the stick.

Some context. Google adjusts their ranking algorithms daily. Sometimes they make larger tweaks that tend to catch the attention of SEOs (and those who track Google changes.)

There was a time when Google adjusted bi-annually and it REALLY changed the search results. Then they moved to a quarterly frequency, and then they began to churn out regular updates more efficiently that we rarely noticed.

Many have noticed the effects of Panda.

Why? Because content farms are devalued. More specifically, those who tried to build websites off of ripped off content, or borrowed content, or even duplicated content, have been devalued.

That means the ‘tried and tested’ method of creating links–the ezine article directory–has lost its luster. Perhaps it hasn’t been annihilated completley, but the shine is gone, and there are TONS of website in a load of hurt because there link development strategy has been based on these poor low quality links.

(Remember, relevant, related incoming web links are the key ingredient to help you rank higher in organic Google results.)

None of our clients were affected.

why? We don’t rely low level tactics. We instead focus on value added solutions that seek to generate sustainable and lasting growth for our clients. That means building a link base on the back of quality content that in turn generates quality links. THere are other factors we consider and tactics we use, but this is the backbone of success online.

So if you’ve lost your rankings because of Panda, there’s still hope, but you’re playing catch up in a game you thought you won but in reality only tried what was quick, easy, cost less, and until now produced results.

Time to adjust.
